POSITION OVERVIEW:


Under the general direction of the Senior Manager - Distribution, the Continuous Improvement Manager II provides oversight for the processes which drive Comprehensive Continuous and Business Improvement.This role works closely with teams within the plant to drive improvement activities through the development of people and processes in a manner consistent with McCormick's High Performance System.The responsibilities of this position are to execute technical and process improvements to support Supply Chain strategies in areas such as reliability, cost efficiencies and flexibility.Specific responsibilities of this position include implementing best system practices, disseminating these across platforms, acting as a project manager for the delivery of material movement improvements, efficiency improvements, cost savings and reliability improvements.

The deliverables may include sponsoring, leading and management of technical teams, committees, resources and driving a rigorous alignment with quality, engineering, maintenance and production teams within a McCormick High Performance System environment.



RESPONSIBILITIES:


* Acts as an internal consultant to lead, define, and develop continuous improvement activities designed to drive results. Develops and measures standard metrics, maps the flow (including inputs and outputs) of business processes, identifies opportunities for improvement, develops project plans for implementing improvements, monitors the new process to ensure it works as intended, and prepares and presents reports.

* Partners with process owners to deliver measurable results improvement to the business. Documents improvements using controls and scorecards to ensure repeatable and sustainable results. Ensures that individual team strategies are in alignment with overall improvement strategies for the plant

* Plans, coordinates, and may deliver training to develop process improvement skills at all levels within the plant.

* Provides leadership and coaching to teams, and achieves results through participative, high performance management.



* Actively seeks out opportunities to reapply improvements across the plant and to reapply best practices (internal/external) within the facility

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


* Bachelor of Science degree with concentration in a relevant technical discipline

* Minimum 5 years' management/leadership experience in Continuous Improvement role

* Demonstrated statistical ability

* Demonstrated leadership of teams within a high-performance environment

* Demonstrated knowledge of project assignments

* Management of projects through to successful completion

* Understanding of applicable regulations, safety protocols, manufacturing tolerances and related data

* Working practices within the packaging machinery and controls category

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Six Sigma Certification

* Experience working in food manufacturing
